HSE Workplace Fatalities 2021/22

The HSE have released the provisional work-related fatalities for the 2021/22 period. There were 123 workers killed in work-related incidents with the construction sector recording 30 fatalities, which are 10 fewer than in the 2020/21 period. The next sectors being agriculture/forestry/fishing and manufacturing, each recording 22 fatalities. The main kinds of accidents are, in order of most fatalities; falling from height, followed by struck by a moving vehicle; struck by a moving object; contact with moving machinery; trapped by something collapsing/overturning.
