Plant Aid Alliance seeks more support

Although generators and other equipment supplied by the UK Plant & Hire Aid Alliance has reached Ukraine, recent intense bombing of the country has been focussed in power stations as well as supply lines etc. This means that donations of generators, already received with gratitude, are needed to provide the basics of heat, light and power for hospitals, schools, homes and shelters.

“The latest wave of bombings vividly demonstrate that the war is far from over,” said Jeremy Fish, chief executive of CPA Member, Ardent Hire and founder of the Alliance. “As more and more of Ukraine’s electricity infrastructure is destroyed, these generators can literally mean the difference between life and death.”

Generators costs just £270 to provide heat, light and power with all donations gift aidable and more are sought. To make a donation, visit the Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ukraine-gensets

Hire industry appeal targets 10,000 generators for Ukraine

Following the huge success of their Christmas Gift appeal, which saw 30,000 Christmas presents sent to Ukrainian children, the Plant & Hire Aid Alliance - to whom CPA support - has set an impressive new target to help the war-torn country. Their latest appeal aims to send no less than 10,000 desperately needed generators to Ukraine.

Following repeated attacks on the power grid and other critical infrastructure, Ukraine has said that generators had become as important as armour in helping them to survive this winter. Recent Russian bombardment has left as many as 12 million or more Ukrainians without power to heat their homes in the depths of winter. Many Ukrainians get just three hours of electricity per day, not nearly enough to combat temperatures that rarely rise above freezing with the capital, Kyiv, experiencing temperatures ranging from minus 4°C in the daytime and to below minus 11°C at night, putting thousands of lives at risk.

Donating to the Plant & Hire Aid Alliance appeal can make a real difference, providing life-saving winter heating to a desperate Ukrainian family. “For just £270, you can send a generator to keep these families warm,” said Jeremy Fish, the CEO of Ardent Hire who set up the Alliance. “This includes the elderly, as well as small children and babies, who are at serious risk from the cold. “We’re appealing to colleagues in the plant and hire sector across the UK and around the world, including the US hire industry, to join us to help reach this ambitious target of 10,000 generators.”

If you would like to help, either as an individual or as a company, all donations go directly towards generator orders for immediate dispatch. And with Gift Aid, the Alliance can now make donations worth 25% more at no extra cost to individuals or companies.
