CITB Skills & Training Funding Available

A CITB funding initiative for in scope employers for up to £10,000 is currently available for the delivery of skills and training for organisations with up to 100 employees. To qualify for the funding which is intended to help small organisations improve skills and training, you need to be a CITB levy registered employer and the amount given depends on the size of the organisation:

  • 1-49 PAYE staff can receive up to £5,000
  • 50-74 PAYE staff can receive up to £7,500
  • 75-99 PAYE staff can receive up to £10,000

The funding is only available until 29th March 2018 so all applications should be made before this date. To be considered, you need to complete and submit an application form which is available at


All applications are scored accordingly by the CITB Funding team. Within 2-3 weeks you will be e-mailed a decision on the funding application and all payments are made upfront by BACS.

Please note that the funding is not only valid just for the delivery of training. It can be used for a number of initiatives to facilitate improved skills and training, such as:

  • The production of training materials
  • Promotional materials for the marketing of new training programmes and qualifications
  • Training videos and online courses which are made freely available to the wider industry e.g. via websites

However, funding will not be granted for items of capital expenditure, sponsorship, celebration events and for the purchasing of software and licences for example. More information on the required criteria is available via the link above.
