CPA Card Schemes Open Meetings 2019
< Back to
Delegates at a CPA-organised Training of Plant in Construction (TOPIC) event held in April 2018 discussed the interface of plant-based card schemes and construction sector employers. The driver for discussion was the announcement made previously by CITB, as part of its Vision 2020 programme, that they would divest the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) - their card scheme for plant operators - and have since confirmed that the qualification awarding body NOCN are the preferred bidders.
The CPA have stated this is the time to review all construction plant operator card schemes to see how they function now and in the future, how standards can be maintained and improved and how they will best benefit the sector’s interests and further sought views from industry about how card schemes are used and viewed based on a short questionnaire.
The feedback from this survey indicated that industry should maintain some control of the standards for all plant-based card schemes and welcomed the opportunity to participate at any arranged regional meetings to discuss the future interation of all card schemes in construction.
The CPA are pleased to announce that they will host a number of open meetings within in the locations below and on the following dates
