Plant-based Trailblazer Apprenticeships - Online Survey Now Open

News & Events
Following preparatory work over the last year, the joint Chairs of the employer-led working groups for both the Construction Equipment Operative and Construction Equipment Maintenance Engineering (mechanic and technician) are pleased to announce that they have now submitted their proposals to Government for the development of trailblazer apprenticeships for each of the occupations.
Each of the submissions are currently subject to an online approvals survey – where interested parties can comment on each of the proposals. The joint chairs of each trailblazer working group seek support from across our industry to demonstrate to Government that there is a genuine need for each of these apprenticeships and that they are genuine occupations which require substantial and rigorous training for at least 12 months. A previous application for the Construction Equipment Operative was rejected where it was perceived by Government that it did not require 12 months of training to become ‘job-ready’.
Industry is urged to show support for each of the trailblazer apprenticeships by providing appropriate responses to the questions asked. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed at https://consult.education.gov.uk/apprenticeships/newproposalsmarch2017
A copy of each of the submission can be accessed via the link and the closing date for responses is 10 April 2017. These new trailblazer apprenticeships are designed to replace the existing frameworks apprenticeships and further information can be found at http://www.cpa.uk.net/trailblazer-apprenticeships/
